Program Management

The Program Management Center provides overall Program policy formulation, Program planning, and strategic direction for the Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Program. In addition, the Center is responsible for Program management, integration, and performance measurement and reporting; nuclear safety, security, and quality assurance; and Program budget development and execution.

The Center interacts with the U.S. Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, regulatory and oversight bodies, other Federal, state, and local government agencies, international entities, Program customers and stakeholders, and the public at large. Finally, the Center supports the Yucca Mountain Project, the Science and Technology Program, and the Waste Acceptance and Transportation Project in such areas as human and financial resources management, baseline management and control, total system life cycle cost analysis, Nuclear Waste Fund management, internal and external audits, and other cross-cutting functions.
