Solar industry jobs are increasing along with the rapidly expanding solar industry. As reported this month by the Solar Foundation’s National Solar Jobs Census, jobs in the industry are increasing by 13.2 percent annually, six times faster than the overall job market.

The 200 million pages of authoritative U.S. government science information can now be accessed on ciencia.science.gov, home of the Spanish version of research and development results from 17 organizations within 13 federal science agencies, 55 scientific databases, and 2,100 scientific websites.

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) today announced that it has awarded $4 million in grants to 22 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and six Department of Energy sites in key Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) areas. This funding launches NNSA’s new Minority Serving Institution Partnership Program, a consortium program organized to build a sustainable STEM pipeline between Energy Department plants and laboratories and HBCUs.

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 - October 15, honoring the generations of Hispanics who have shaped and strengthened the fabric of our Nation. The tradition of observing Hispanic Heritage as a federal government and as a nation was started in 1968, under President Lyndon Johnson. Twenty-two years later it was expanded from a week of observance to a full month.
