DOE ordered Perlick Corporation to pay a $400 civil penalty after finding Perlick had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. at least two noncompliant model HP48RO, electric refrigerators.

The Center for Regulatory Effectiveness (CRE) is pleased to submit these comments to the Department of Energy (DOE) on how DOE can best review its existing regulations and to identify whether any of its existing regulations should be modified, streamlined, expanded or repealed.

DOE alleged in a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Electrolux failed to certify a certain dishwasher as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards.

DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Sears, Roebuck & Co. finding that Kenmore-brand model number 255.19502010 ("19502") and Kenmore-brand model number 255.19702010 ("19702"), compact chest freezers, do not comport with the energy conservation standards.

Apple Inc. met with DOE to discuss the notice of proposed rule making the Department sent out regarding battery chargers and external power supplies.  Below is a list of topics that Apple discussed with DOE.

This letter comprises the comments of the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), Southern California Gas Company (SCGC), San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E), and Southern California Edison (SCE) in response to the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Request for Information on Regulatory Burden.

This memorandum for the record provides a summary of a June 13, 2012, meeting with U.S. Department of Energy staff concerning DOE’s proposed rulemaking regarding amended energy conservation standards for Class A external power supplies (EPSs) and new energy conservation standards for non-Class A EPSs and battery chargers.

The California Energy Commission (Energy Commission) expressed concern about the differences in the stringency of California standards and the proposed DOE standards.  The Energy Commission requested that DOE revise its cost-effectiveness analysis based on technical comments provided by the Energy Commission during the public comment period.
