On November 16, 2012, representatives from PJM Interconnection LLC, National Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Edison Electric Institute, American Public Power Association, Rheem and the Steffes Corporation (together, “Joint Commenters”) met with members of the Department of Energy (“Department”) to discuss the request for information “[…] Energy Conservation Standards for Residential Water Heaters”,

DOE ordered YMGI Group LLC to pay a $31,400 civil penalty after finding (1) YMGI had failed to certify that certain models of residential central air conditioners comply with the applicable energy conservation standards and (2) YMGI had distributed in commerce model TTWC-18K-31B, a through-the-wall air conditioner that does not meet the applicable energy conservation standard.

This memorandum for the record provides a summary of a November 2, 2012, telephone call with U.S. Department of Energy staff concerning negotiations on a potential voluntary agreement among stakeholders regarding set-top box energy efficiency.

This  memo  memorializes  the  meeting  between  AHAM  and  the  Department  of  Energy  on October 17, 2012, for inclusion in the public docket.

DOE issued a Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty to YMGI Group, LLC, alleging YMGI (1) distributed in commerce noncompliant through-the-wall split system central air conditioner model TTWC-18K-31B; and (2) distributed in commerce residential central air conditioners without first certifying the models to DOE as compliant with applicable DOE energy conservation standards.

DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to YMGI Group, LLC, finding that YMGI's through-the-wall split system central air conditioner basic model TTWC-18K-31B fails to meet applicable DOE energy conservation standards.

Mr. Medenwaldt inquired, by emails on August 7 and 8, 2012, whether the proposed energy conservation standards rulemaking would affect above ground mobile mining equipment that would have distribution transformers onboard.  

DOE ordered Sears, Roebuck & Co. to pay an $8,000 civil penalty after finding Sears had failed to certify that Sears dehumidifiers comply with the applicable energy conservation standard.

While our process may start with a "basic model" it is seldom that we fabricate more than a few units that are identical.  Therefore, the definition of "basic model" has a large impact on the implications associated with testing.
