Jennifer A. Salisbury - EMAB Board Member
Jennifer A. Salisbury received her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico’s School of Law. Early in her career, Ms. Salisbury served as Director of Legislation to a United States Senator, an Assistant United States Attorney in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and General Counsel of a New Mexico state agency. Ms. Salisbury was also appointed to serve at the U.S. Department of the Interior as Associate Solicitor of General Law, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management.
Upon her return to New Mexico, Ms. Salisbury served as Cabinet Secretary of the New Mexico Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources Department, where she was responsible for coordinating nuclear waste transportation issues and managing a state agency with 485 employees and a $45 million budget.
After leaving state government, Ms. Salisbury returned to the practice of law. She serves as a consultant on natural resource and nuclear waste transportation issues and works as a facilitator on public policy issues. Ms. Salisbury has provided legal services to the contractor responsible for environmental remediation at the Paducah site. She has also been a volunteer mediator in the Albuquerque court system for many years, and is a member of the board of directors for a statewide organization dedicated to addressing public policy issues through the use of collaborative problem solving techniques.
Ms. Salisbury was appointed to EMAB as a special Government employee in order to provide expert advice on large project planning and environmental stewardship.
