DOE ordered Philips Lighting Electronics N. A. to pay a $82,478 civil penalty after finding Philips had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. 7,498 units of basic model VEL-1S40-SC, noncompliant fluorescent lamp ballasts. The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Philips.
