WASHINGTON - Tuesday, April, 19, 2011, U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu will help kick-off the Electric Drive Transportation Association Annual Conference by participating in the Innovation Motorcade, an all electric vehicle motorcade that will start at the Department of Energy and travel around the city. Supporting electric vehicles will help the U.S. reach President Obama's bold but achievable goal of reducing oil imports by one-third by 2025.

Secretary Chu will give remarks at the opening ceremony and participate in a brief press conference.

WASHINGTON -TOMORROW, Tuesday, February 8, 2011, David Sandalow, Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Policy and International Affairs, will host a conference call with reporters to release a new DOE report on electric vehicles.  The report will examine progress to date in meeting President Obama's goal of putting one million electric vehicles on the road by 2015, as well as additional steps that can continue to accelerate America's leadership in electric vehicle deployment.

Secretary Chu will also release additional details about the Department's SunShot initiative.

WASHINGTON, DC - Tomorrow, January 27th U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu will travel to Memphis, Tenn. to visit Sharp Solar Manufacturing Plant and FedEx Memphis Superhub. The visit comes two days after President Obama outlined in his State of the Union speech his vision for a new clean energy economy.
