Tritium Supply and Recycling
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) completed the Tritium Supply and Recycling Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) (DOE/EIS–0161) in October 1995. The Tritium Supply and Recycling PEIS assessed the potential environmental impacts of technology and siting alternatives for the production of tritium for national security purposes as well as the impacts of constructing a new Tritium Extraction Facility (TEF) at the Department’s Savannah River Site near Aiken, SC.
