New Agreement Will Support the Establishment of a First-of-its-Kind Training Center in Asia

The Department of Energy report demonstrates the substantial progress made to date on a number of clean energy initiatives between China and the United States

The report provides an overview of the twenty joint projects and progress made by three working groups under the CED's Action Plan in the areas of carbon capture and storage (CCS), electricity grid, and clean energy research and development.

Working Group meeting paves way for further U.S.-Russia cooperation on shared goals

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman will represent the United States at the International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC) Executive Committee Meeting in Jordan on Thursday, November 4, 2010. The conference aims to advance cooperation among participating states to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy in a manner that meets high standards of safety, security and nonproliferation.

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy for Policy & International Affairs David Sandalow announced today that Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory will receive $12.5 million over the next five years to lead a consortium on energy-efficient building technologies under the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC). The funding will be matched by the consortium partners to provide at least $25 million in total U.S. funding. Chinese counterparts will contribute an additional $25 million.

DOE's Office of Policy and International Affairs and China's Ministry of Science and Technology convened a 3-day workshop at Argonne National Laboratory that brought together more than 100 U.S. and Chinese experts from government, industry, and academia to discuss progress made in the electric vehicle industry to date and opportunities for increased collaboration.
