The air conditioning portion of heat pumps must have a capacity of at least 1.5 tons
Water heaters must have a minimum capacity of 20 gallons

Kirkwood Electric offers rebates to its residential customers who install energy-efficient heat pumps and electric hot water heaters in their new and existing homes. Customers will be given a rebate of $300 for each electric heat pump installed and an additional $100 for each electric water heater installed. Customers can use any electrician/HVAC dealer licensed to work in the city of Kirkwood. Customers who are interested can call the Building Commissioner's Office at 314-822-5823 for a list of licensed electricians.
The air conditioning portion of heat pumps must have a SEER rating of at least 9.5
