North Arkansas Electric Cooperative (NAEC), a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, serves approximately 35,000 member accounts in seven different counties. The coop provides low interest rates for energy efficiency improvements in the home through the Energy Resource Conservation (ERC) Loan Program. Eligible measures include heat pumps and weatherization measures such as insulation, ductwork, and storm doors/windows. To qualify, the heat pump must have a SEER rating of at least 14.0 and a HSPF of at least 8.2. Heat pumps must be sized according to North Arkansas Electric design requirements determined at the time of the energy audit. Participants have up to 7 years to repay loans. Loan amounts in excess of $10,000 will be loaned at a rate determined by either adding 2.5% to the Federal Discount Rate, or 2% to North Arkansas Electric's average cost of capital.
