For your convenience, you may use free Google Earth® software to view the Caliente and Mina rail corridors.
To view the data using Google Earth®:
- Download and install the free Google Earth® software using the instructions provided by Google. *see note below
- Download our package of custom .kmz files (.zip [4.9 mb]) to your computer
- Unzip the two files to a convenient location
- Open Google Earth® on your computer
- Click 'Open' on the top Google Earth® menu bar. In the pop-up window, navigate to the respective kmz file (CRC_All.kmz for the Caliente corridor, MRC_All.kmz for the Mina corridor) and click 'Open'. The file make take several minutes to load.
You will find the file in your 'Temporary Places'. Three folders can be found under the Caliente (CRC) and Mina (MRC) headings. To zoom to a particular feature, double click on the feature title in the Places window of Google Earth®.

To enhance your visualization capabilities, click on 'Tools' and select 'Options' from the drop-down box. In the '3D View' folder you can change such things as the label size, scale units and vertical exaggeration.
